Spell Control Songhai: Pulling Tusk Boar and Heaven's Eclipse really helps you out here. All Magmars want 3x Makantor so that isn't even a contest ) Midrange and Aggro Magmar are both also very strong archetypes Aggro appreciates cards like Twin Fang and Vindicator, and Midrange likes Kujata, but it's definitely playable without them. You could probably scrape together the dust for a mostly-complete Combo Magmar list you'll only really lack Metamorphosis (which makes dealing with Archon Spellbinder tricky, but that's what Egg Morph is for). Combo Magmar has a very strong OTK combo (8 mana, 4 cards, Flash Reincarnation -> Elucidator -> Amplification -> Fractal Replication, (5+3)*8=24 damage) and the only high-rarity cards it requires are 3x Makantor Warbeast and 2x (or more) Fractal Replication (though most lists also run stuff like Metamorphosis and Aethermaster).

Magmar in general: Control Magmar is kinda expensive, but there's other archetypes. The playstyle is very similar to aggro flood decks. They can all be improved by the inclusion of high-rarity cards, of course - Rite of the Undervault for Abyssian, Tusk Boar for Songhai, Spirit of the Wild for Vanar, Vindicator for Magmar, and Third Wish for Vetruvian - but generally it's a very strong budget option. Songhai and Vanar are probably the best mech decks (as a bonus, you even have Tusk Boar for Songhai!), but any faction can really make it work. Mech decks: Really, these work very effectively up until about rank 5, even in budget. There's a lot of niche stuff left (Reaper of the Nine Moons, Auroras Tears, Coldbiter, Mogwai) but those have at least a small chance of seeing play.Ĭonsidering that, you can probably make a few viable decks (bolded are words of importance or specific deck/faction mentions): I'd also recommend D/Eing Hexblade (see replies to this comment), but there seems to be some controversy.

Syvrel the Exile - I like this card's animations but it sadly isn't that good at all :/ Wraithling Fury - lmao this card is trashĬhassis of Mechaz0r - even mech decks don't play this, it's way too slow and dies to everything (Rejuvinator, most artifacts, general attack + 2/3, etcetcetc)

Overall, I'd say it's 100% safe to D/E the following cards: There's also some people who like Bounded Lifeforce, Chaos Elemental, and Dark Nemesis. Tusk Boar - 3x autoinclude in every single SonghaiĮlyx Stormblade - not quite Archon Spellbinder-level power, but still a strong Lyonar legendaryĪymara Healer - fits in most Vetruvian decks as at least a 2-of Out of that list, the best pulls I see are:
